CurlsHub

CurlsHub is a vertical social app designed for people with curly hair to track routines, discover personalized products, and connect with others based on hair type. Backed by strong product strategy, the project focused on blending utility with community. Offering tracking tools, content feeds, reviews, and before/after features. The goal was to craft a user-friendly MVP with a clear structure, soft visual language, and mobile-first design that speaks directly to its niche audience.

The challenge
People with curly hair often rely on scattered sources — Reddit threads, Facebook groups, and niche blogs — to find trustworthy advice. The goal was to create a single, dedicated app where the community could exchange experiences, track routines, and discover reliable products without the noise of generic platforms.
Approach
Instead of doing full research phases, I analyzed existing community behavior (mainly Reddit communities, TikTok influencers and YouTube comments) to extract patterns:Users seek personalized routines and progress tracking. There’s a high value in peer recommendations and authenticity.Users often feel overwhelmed by information and product marketing.
This helped define the core experience pillars: Track – daily logging of routines and progress. Discover – content and products from people with similar hair types. Connect – community features that build trust and motivation.
